Stack the Pages Mini-album

Hey, hey from cold chilly Alabama.  It's finally FALL here!!  Love, love the weather - hot and humidity not my 'cup of tea'...LOL

After watching Jen of Eve Designs video of her Stack the Pages

and she had mentioned in her description the stack the deck binding system by Laura Denison I realized that I can do this with what I have in my stash of papers.  And using Jen of Eve Designs 'Everlasting' mini-albums pages from her tutorial pdf (available on etsy.com) I can create this without purchasing her tutorial!!

So here is what I have done so far.  It's a work in progress....

Front page with a pocket and flap. I have a insert inside the front envelope pocket, but not matted as of yet.  I am using paper I have on hand.  And there is a insert in the side pocket that I will show in a later post.

This picture shows page 2 and 3 of the mini album.  I attached the third page to the stack in the deck binding system and love, love it.

Stayed tuned for more pictures of the completed pictures.  In all there will be six album pages.  Attaching the completed pages will be done as soon as I get to Hobby Lobby and get myself their double sided adhesive.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed week.

A Quilted Birthday Card

I have been purchasing card kits from a Facebook group page for the past 6 months and with the financial strain I'm experiencing right now, and I do create cards for enjoyment, I got to thinking, I can create these same type of cards using Pinterest to find patterns for quilts.

I found this pattern on Pinterest, don't know who it belongs to, and apologized for that, but here is the card I came up with.----

Using my Make the Cut software, I traced the template and saved it.  After saving it, I created the svg file from that, and broke the template down so I can get the quilted pieces.

I cut two templates (4.25 x 4.25 I believe) gluing the white template onto a black cardstock and place the individual pieces on the matching place.  Than glued the pink template over the top of the pieces/white template.  (To me it looks more neater than placing the pieces onto the top of the framed quilted template!!).

The Happy Birthday title I found (for free with a subscription) on Cricut Design Space.  I decided, rather than cut out in white and color in, I would cut the title out like it was shown in the picture.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and God's blessings to you all.

6x9 Printable Envelope Album or Junk Journal

Happy Wednesday to you all from rainy Alabama, once again raining.  Don't know if it's the effects of Hurricane Harvey (have a step-brother by that name!!) but it's raining.

I have attached a video from jenofeve designs of the project I am making, which her patterns are hand cut and I am retweaking the templates so I can cut out with my Silhouette or Cricut.

This is the front of what I am calling the cover page, using white card stock as the base (from Wal-mart, but I would recommend card stock that is heavier than what I used.).  This is spread out so you can see the entire cover.
This will be the front of the cover, using paper from a paper pad that I have had in my stash like forever.
This will be the back cover, once again using what I have in my stash of paper.

I created the base and mats using my Silhouette Design Studio, paint.net and Make the Cut software.  Than loaded into my Cricut Design Space and cut out the base and mats.  I used Artist Glitter Glue (the best glue there is) for adhering the mats to the base.

Even though the title says 6x9 envelope, I don't believe mine is that size - a tad bid smaller, which is normally not what size I make.  I like them bigger and I will work with that later.

This template is available in her etsy.com store and you will be able to obtain the link under her youtube.com video for this project.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed Labor Day weekend, and be safe.

Happy Birthday Box Envelope Card

Good Friday morning to all.  It's almost 6 a.m. and I'm bleary eyed but eager to get this day done so I can have a great weekend.

I finished this Happy Birthday Envelope Box Card about a couple weeks ago or so and just now getting it posted on Facebook   This card file was created by Cheryl Scrapinmini and Eva, both of Creative Kuts. (found here on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/381667938541774/).

Using my Cricut Explore machine and Cricut Design Space I created this:

(edited in picmonkey.com)

All the paper I used from my stash accumulation   The inside attachment, I created another 'box' and glued to the sides of the box (believe the original design had them glued individually.)

I will be adding the number 17 to the card as I am planning to give this card to my granddaughter who will be 17 in October (I feel OLD!!).

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and May God bless you all.

More on West Palm Beach Mission Trip (Album in a Box mini-album)

I'm sharing photos of what I have, so far on the Album in A Box mini-album ... the project is not finished as I have to order some cardstock, but here is what I've done:

Please excuse the mess under the table :-)  This is the top/front cover of the Album in a Box mini-album.  I will be adding either seashells for embellishing, or a baby size flip flop to the right side corner.

This is the back side of the cover.  I printed the flip flop onto watercolor (lightweight, almost like the texture scrapbook paper you find  online or at craft stores).  Trimmed to size, and before I glued it down, I inserted the posts w/screws to each corner for legs to stand on.

This is the inside of the Album in a Box.  I decided I wanted the waterfall effect for photos and decided to make as a doubled side waterfall,  Inside there is a flap that will be matted that folds down to put photos on each side and the inside (I will take pictures later when finished)

The inside of the bottom cover I will use the hidden binding system and add four or five pages that will have flaps and/or pockets for more photos, etc.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today.  And every father out there have a Happy Father's Day.

Album in a Box

This will a long blog of photos of a Album in a Box project I am making; and unfortunately I had to halt the work as I ran out of adhesive but soon will go to Hobby Lobby and purchase some.  I love Scor-tape but I don't quite have all the money to order (Hobby Lobby does not carry it!!).

The inspiration for this Album in a Box came from a live tutorial on Scrapbookers of Country Craft Creations.  Once a week she has a tutorial of a album to share  where she gives the measurements, etc in the video.  I love this Facebook page, and she also has a store Country Craft Creations where she sells the supplies for the albums, i.e.: chipboard, adhesive, paper, etc.

So now onto the photos of this project:

Thank you so much for visiting with me today, and hope this gives you all some inspiration to create this Album in a Box.  Have a blessed weekend.

A Mother's Day Card

Good morning everybody.  I would like to share a Mother's Day Card I made for my  daughter-in-law last month, using a file from Creative Kuts.com called 'Rose Punch Out Card' part of a set of  Punch Out Cards by Cheryl Scrappinmini ... i.e. Cheryl Walton of Creative Kuts.

This is the front of the card, using what I have available in my stash of paper/cardstock.  I added three gemstones, and a butterfly for decorations.

And this the inside of the card.  The title 'Happy Mother's Day' I printed it white and than colored with my gel pens.  The Rose I cut and sponge the edges with distressed ink 'Tea'.  Added a bee and couple of gemstones.

I edited my photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements and created a framed picture using a weathered frame from (I believe) Creative Market.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and have a blessed day.

Digital Scrapbook Page

Here is a digital scrapbook page for my great grandson's mini-album:

The Bear and title from Treasure Box Designs offered as a freebie on their Facebook last Thursday.  I opened the file in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 (the jpeg of the bear and title) cropped to separate the two jpeg pictures.

I first created my own pattern using files from the graphic file and than placed the two separated pieces onto the layout.  Inserted Barry's photo (at one year) and than typed in his name. (He was always nicknamed Bear from time that my granddaughter knew she was pregnant with him to now.)

I am relearning how to do 'actions' in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and to be honest it is not the easier thing to do right now.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and have a great week.

Saint Patricks Pop up Card - a little late.

I know, I know this is late in posting about a Saint Patrick's Card I created using my Pop Up Studio Card software and Make the Cut.

This is the front of the Saint Patrick's Card I created using a svg file from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I print and cut the hat using my Cricut Design Space and Cricut cutting machine.  The green 'sun' background is from SilhouetteAmerica Online Store.  I was going to use a springie thing for the hat but decided to use foam tape to pop it up.

This is the inside of the card using the Pop Up Studio Card software and Make the Cut software to cut the inside layered piece.  When cutting this out again, at a future time, I will correct the legs on the kettle - thicken them so they don't tear from the base as it did in this piece.  I glued, and glued and placed clear gemstones on each leg to hide my mistakes.  The shamrock paper is printed out using a file from the SilhouetteAmerica Online store along with the tag with Lucky printed on it.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and have a blessed remainder of the week.

September Scrapbook Train Layout - Page One

Good afternoon all.  I am here to share a scrapbook page from Creative Kuts Scrapbook Train from last September 2016. This is page one of a two page layout:

I cut the mat and layered onto brown cardstock (this is a Fall theme layout), and rather than cut the flowers and adhered them together, I made a digital image of both flowers, and painted them with my watercolor paints - I have several sets and do not know which set I used on these flowers.

I will be adding beads where there should be pieces in P, B and R...it was pointed out to me that they're missing.  Because of moving stuff around, and other projects being worked on, these pieces got lost in the shuffle.  I will update the picture when finished.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me, and may God Bless you all.

Easter Chick in Basket

Hello all, I am back with another Easter Card that I would call a 'shaplie'.  Using a file from, I believe miss kate cuttables I print and cut the chick using yellow card stock.  Also, with a black gel pen, I drew around the chicks cheeks to highlight it.  (I print and cut, using Cricut Design Space.)  The card base was created, using Make the Cut software; and once I was happy with the results, I saved as a svg file, and loaded it into Cricut Design Space for cutting.

The ribbon bow is from my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition library that I downloaded from the online store.  I print and cut the ribbon bow, and drew the dotted lines in; but have since done it in the software!!

I placed eyelashes around the eyes, and drew dashes around the card front and the basket.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and may God bless you all.

April 1st Challenge - Flowers

The above card has flowers standing in a pile of snow, indicating it's Spring around the corner.  Using my Cricut Explore and Design Space I cut this simple card out.  The 4.25 x 5.50 white card behind the front was embossed, using a snowflake design.  Placed the card with the snowflakes showing towards the inside of card, indicating it's still snowing.  (Apologize for no picture of inside of card, the apt I'm living in does not have the best lighting at all.)  I placed gemstones on the flowers; and the sentiment was printed on the snowbank piece.

This 2nd card is a print and cut of the silhouette outline of Santa in his Sleigh with Holly leaves, berries and flowers along the bottom that I colored in with watercolor crayons from Stampin' Up.  I corner punched the corner edges with my cloud punch from We R Memories.  Gemstones placed on three of the stars.

Easter Cards

Good morning friends.  I would like to showcase a couple Easter Cards I made recently.  The first Easter Card is for a child and some digital/cut file designers call this a 'shaplie card'.  What I did was created the front section first, using a background cut out of the bunny.  I used the boolean technique through Make the Cut software, but I do it differently than the tutorial I read way back when, but come up with the same style.  Than once this is done, I create the back of the card with mirror option and than weld the two together to come up with the card base.

The image itself is a cut file from misskatecuttables or Treasure Box Gems but I downloaded the eye files and placed where their eyes had been.  The mouth, I typed in the ), turning it upright to make the smile.  The nose is a heart I cut out with my cutting machines.

The inside of the card, I print and cut a bunny rabbit with Easter Eggs, and attached, as a border, to the bottom edge.  Stamped the sentiment using the Stampin' Up " Wacky Wishes'  stamp set.

This is a overlay from Creative Kuts that I got as a free file from Cheryl.  I cut the Cross base from gray card stock, the cross from taupe (?) card stock.  I had the flower in my stash so placed it n center of the cross.  Easter sentiment tag is print and cut and from Cricut Design Space.

That's about it for today.  Thank you for visiting with me today, and may you all have a blessed weekend.

What I am doing now-a-days

This is what my craft table looks like NOW.  Have been painting several pictures which I plan to frame and hang on my bare walls in my new apartment.  Long process, but it helps with the stress level.  But my cat, Deena likes to join me and get in the way. LOL

Thank you for visiting with me, and have a blessed day.

Daughter-in-law's Birthday Card

Good morning all.  Yesterday was my daughter-in-law's 40th birthday and I created this card for her which I have not given to her yet because I finished it last evening.

The floral image I colored, using a ipad app called recolor.  I have to confess that I erased the hand/arm from the center as I didn't find it appealing!!  I printed it out using Adobe Photoshop Elements, and than cut the image with Brother's Scan 'n Cut (which I will be using more as my Cameo for some reason will not recognize the registration marks when print n cut).

I have the ribbon in my Silhouette Studio library so brought it up and sized it to fit the card, and before applying to the front, I sprayed it with glitter paint.  Apologize for the smeared look because of handling it.

Here is the inside of the card....

The birthday presents are by miss kate cuttables.  I used the jpeg file included with the cutfile and finding a verse on the Internet, I printed and  once again using my Brother's Scan 'n Cut machine, cut it out and placed in the center.

I will be posting more of my projects as I finished them.  Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and God bless you all.

Calendar Headings

I am in the process of creating calendar headings for a yearly calendar.  I color the headings on my iPad using the app ReColor (type in recolor in your app store and it will come up with the download link.)

Here is April ... I have January, February and March finished but have to locate the file on my flashdrive.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, which is going to be nice spring day in February in Alabama.  Blessings to you all.

A Shelf Card with a Valentine's Day theme

Heart Shelf Card

This is a pretty card cut file, but putting it together  was time consuming for me.  All the bending and twisting to get the pieces in to the slits was somewhat difficult.  So, all in all, I probably will not make this card very often.

This was included in the Creative Kuts Card Train for February.  I actually cut this out 3 to 4 times because of the sizing.  Once I got the size I wanted, it's a great looking card.  I used stickers for embellishments that I purchased at the local Hobby Lobby.  Stamped sentiment from Stampin' Up catalog; and paper/cardstock from my stash of paper pads.

Thank you for taking time to visit with me, and blessings to all.

Another Swing Card - with a Heart/s

Heart Swing Card .  I stamped 'wishing you a' sentiment  on the white Heart layered on the red heard.  Placed a heart sticker and three gem stones below the sentiment.  And stamped the Happy Valentine's Day Sentiment in the corner of card.  I used my chomper, the 'cloud' design and cut each corner.
This is the front view of the Heart Swing card, showing the layered heart with a sticker applied to the center of the white Heart
This is the same card standing with the inside of the swing heart facing out to see better.  Another sticker applied just above the Happy Valentine's Day' Sentiment.

Red texture/linen type card purchased either from Tuesday Mornings or from Country Craft Creations.  The design card stock is from a 12x12 paper pad by First Edition and purchased from Hobby Lobby.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me this evening, and hope you all have a blessed week.

2-Sisters Coloring Project

I named this photo 2-Sisters.  A outline image I downloaded from Pinterest and using the Recolor app on my ipad, I colored it and than using the pencil effect within the app, it created this effect.  Than I saved to Instagram and than saved to my ipad and downloaded to my PC.  From there I loaded in Adobe Photoshop Elements where I created a frame and corrected some areas with the the 'bandaide' tool.

I plan to use this in as a birthday card sometime in the future.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and have a great day of crafting.
