Taking some time off

Hello dear followers...

I am going to take some time off from the design teams I am presently with as I am working with sister and her health problems.  She is in critical condition at the local hospital, and do not know the outcome but she needs me right now.

In the next few months I will have numerous decisions to make and there will be life changes for me.

My sister, Ellen will be 67 years old this coming Saturday June 20th, and my prayers will be that she will see her birthday.  Main prayers that a miracle will happen and she will be healed and back home soon.

She had been a heavy smoker all her life, and I'm afraid that bad habit caught up with her; along with her tendency to drink beer and sometimes a glass of wine mixed with beer.  What a combination!!

I took her to the E.R. at local hospital and they admitted her for low sodium and low blood levels. Blood levels have stayed up, and as of last night I do not know what the sodium level was.  She has been in the hospital for 1 1/2 weeks now, starting in the Special Care Unit.  She had gotten better to be moved to the floor for about 5 days and than back to Special Care Unit where she presently is.

Keep us in your prayers please.

I will be back, but I will be posting more of scrapbook pages than cards as Operation Write Home is discontinuing their service of providing greeting cards for our military men and women.  I am going to fill up the grandchildren's scrapbooks.

Mid-month Christmas Card Inspiration

Here it is June 15th already...this month is going fast; and I am trying to keep busy here at the house - with mowing, laundry and going into the hospital to visit with my sister who has been a patient in Special Care Unit since the 6th of June....very stressful time for us all.

Here is my Build a Snowman card to share with you.

I apologize that I did not mat with a darker mat behind the main mat, so it comes up as all white.

I had viewed a video from StampTV about creating a background with rubbing your inkpads across the card before stamping and decided to try on this card.  I don't have regular inkpads (i.e. Stampin! Up, etc) so I used my mini-distressed pads with the colors that come with the set I ordered.  I've seen where you can use ink daubers and probably should've done with the blue - might've been a bit lighter  in the final color.

The image is from Close to My Heart acrylic stamp set (retired) that I've had for a number of years.  Like the stamp, but I will be purchasing my stamps with rubber base back (no wood stamps) as the acrylic stamp was sticky to the touch, and stuck to the cardstock, even with magnets holding the card down on my MISTI platform.

For coloring the images I used my Prismacolour Ink Markers ... at least I could shade the boots easily.  The heart, carrot nose and blades on ice skates was colored in with my Wink of Stella glitter pens.

I will later, when closer to Christmas, stamp a sentiment inside the card.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and may your week be full of crafting what you like.

Congrats Gratuate

Good morning crafters...another Sunsational Stamp project to showcase today.  This card will be delivered to my granddaughter who will be graduated from 8th grade last evening.

On this image, I used Copic Markers to color, except for the Cap - I used Black Soot Distressed Ink marker.  The beak and feet I applied Wink of Stella Clear glitter.  I applied part of the Bright Graduation Greeting; and a single silver gemstone to the center of the bow.

'from 8th grade' was printed on inside and than cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.

Buster ... Wishing you a Happy Birthday

It's hump day here in Alabama, and I would like to share with you a slider card I made with Buster and the file - Buster  - Mom.   Since Mom's Day is past (every day should be Mom's Day, right?) I created a birthday card, using an idea from Stamping School titled Double  Slider Pop Up, only my card is a single slider pop up.

created from this cutfile by Creative Kuts

There was no coloring done except for the whiskers and highlights in the eyes.   Sentiment was applied with MISTI alignment tool (love this tool).  I added a scalloped edge to the black mat and applied clear beads every other scallop.  The designer paper for the front pocket was printed from a file in my stash of scrapbook paper kits; and two brads used on top corners of pocket.  I tried to distress the edges of  pocket for a 'old used look'.

The card base is 4.25x11" that is folded upwards.  Buster Dog is created using the pieces in the cutfile, and trimmed down so it will move up and down freely.  Cash, check or gift card can be tucked inside, for a birthday gift for a loved one who is celebrating a birthday.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me and may you have a blessed and happy crafting day.

June 1st Christmas Card All Yearl Around - Make a Snowman

June is soon here, and I used for my 'Make a Snowman' themed project two stamps from here and here

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-U-ahFVFNB7M/VHFfuXsViHI/AAAAAAAAL10/fBiwJJH1374/s1600/172%2BSnowman%2BFreebie%2BPreview%2BGrannyEnchantedDotCom.jpg

and the mats from SilhouetteAmerica Design Store and created this:

I first created the jpeg image of the Snowman and than, along with the sentiment, printed on the fancy edge mat.  The trees I colored with my Stampin! UP markers, and than adhered to the side of the snowman with foam tape. The nose I applied clear glitter with Wink of Stella glitter pens.  Both mats adhered to the card base,

Thank you for coming by to visit with me today, and may you have a blessed day.
