Couple layouts of trip to El Paso, Texas

Hi, Carolyn here  with Simply Made Saturday and I am sharing a couple 8x8 layouts using Abode Photoshop Elements 12...

TIP:  Backup your scrapbook layouts for safety sake.  I lost everything on my external harddrive, and now backing up what I have on the flashdrive.  Thankfully, I had posted the 8x8 layouts on my blog recently so can download the photos to flashdrive and than to box.com...

This is showing that my son and family moving to Ft Bliss/El Paso, Texas area where they will be living for next 2 1/2 years.

Granddaughters and I spent a early evening hour at the park close to their home and took pictures, playing around with the options in Abode Photoshop Elements 12.

A one day trip to the Balloon Festival, driving thru a portion of New Mexico and photographed the mountains on the way.

Supplies used:

  • Abode Photoshop Elements version12
  •  Photo services at Walgreens/Persnickety online services
And I'm just trusting, that when I return home, that someone at a computer shop with more knowledge of retrieving files off of a dead harddrive as I have more photos of my trip on the drive.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with us today, and have a great crafting day.

Removal of Freebie

I'm not sure if the freebie I was offering was created by another designer so I removed from my blog permanently.  And will not be posting any freebies from now on.  I will be posting the work I do for the design teams I am on, etc.

This image was not copied, etc from the website but I do not feel, since there has been a lot of posting on Facebook about copyright laws, etc; that I can post this anywhere in my blog or on Facebook.

Apologize for the inconvenience.

Celebrating July 4th....

This is the last challenge, for the season (the DT taking the summer months off) at Creative Cutting Challenge, and our project theme is Celebrating July 4th...

by
The Creative Pointe

As I am on vacation, and do not have my Cameo with me, I used my daughter-in-law's trusty Cricut Expression to cut this file out, using SCAL2, of course.  I created a topper for the cardbase, from the shadow of the title, and than cut out the background in Kraft paper, and the title in red smooth construction paper (found in the Art Dept of Wal-mart and comes in a 8.5x11 pad).   Using the stars from the cutfile, I cut out five more to place on foam tape along the edge of the card.

For this last Challenge, head on over to Creative Cutting Challenge and play along with us in Celebrating July 4th.  Thank you for visiting with me today, and happy crafting to all.

Challenge - Anything Goes

Mini-Album

For this challenge, I used the Eiffel Tower from the Travel Set by Creative Pointe.   I covered a 5x7 (approx) piece of chipboard with burlap fabric.

I cut out the Eiffel 2 x's, one in black cardstock and adhered to white poster board to pop up on the covered front.  The titled design paper is from SilhouetteAmerica Online store which I printed and cut out the title Paris.  Flowers and end decorative corners from Michaels; and the ribbon I used my bow-maker to create.  Scalloped edged ribbon layered on the top and bottom edges of title, and placed brads in the corners.

It is not yet finished as I plan to bind with kraft colored duck tape and than will finish adhering the ribbon along the left edge.  Insides of mini-album is  5x7 black envelopes (approx.) from a tutorial found on youtube.com by Kathy Orta (http://www.paperphemenon.com)  creating this phenomenal mini-album.

Thank you for stopping by, and happy crafting.  Please join us at Creative Cutting Challenge  for this challenge.

How about some Watermelon....

June 1st already, my how time flies.  Year of 2014 nearly half way over.  Have been busy creating while here in El Paso, Texas visiting my son and family; and created this card using the June Card Kit.

TIP:  Be creative in your use of supplies.  Used the cover of a stamp pad for placing a acrylic stamp onto as I didn't bring my supplies/tools with me.

Supplies used:
  •  Title and textured paper, piece of design paper from June Card Kit
  •  Watermelon pieces and Ants from  Lawn Fawn Happy Summer Stamp Set
  •  Card base from Hobby Lobby
  •  Ink from ink pad from Dollar Tree
I took a 8.5x11 sheet of white cardstock and cut in half, to create a 4.25x8.50 base..I just ripped the bottom edge off on both the card base and the green textured card stock.  Using watercolor pencils I colored in the center of watermelon with red, and green on the edges.  Hand cut the melons and attached foam tape to three slices of watermelon and set it on the green textured paper.
