Need a Hug?

Do you need a hug?  I believe we all do at some time and right now, I sure could use a hug or two -- from my granddaughters!!

Supplies used:
  • Digital stamp "Need a Hug?" by Sunsational Stamps
  • Swiss dot embossing folder used to emboss the larger mat
  • paper designs from my Silhouette Studio "My Library"
  • Brads, buttons and baker twine
Measurements for layered pieces

    Main mat: 13cm x 13cm (5x5)in
                       8cm x 5 cm (3x2)in
                       12cm x 4 cm (4 3/4 x 1 1/2) (used 11cm x 6 cm)in
                       3cm x 2cm (1 1/4 x 3/4)in
9cm in diameter  (3 1/2 in in diameter)

TIP:  when converting from Metric (centimeters) to Standard just change your measurements in your Studio software under preferences from Auto to CM and than when checking the size of your pieces or changing the sizes, you can just enter the cm numbers and will come up to that size. (unless you know how to do the math!!)

I placed the main mat thru the Sizzix Big Shot and embossed it 2 times since the mat was a bit wider than the embossing folder.  And the little 'gap' between the dots covered by the placement of the mats.

Basically, this card makes a 5x5 (size of base card is approx 5.25 x 10.25).

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and take a moment and visit Sunsational Stamps for additional inspiration.

Owl-in-Tree Pop Up project

I found this Owl in a Tree cut file in the online Make the Cut library and decided to work it up as a pop up card, using Make the Cut's new software, Pop Up Card Studio.  I first created a shadow of the owl in the tree, and than copy and pasted to Pop Up Card Studio and created this Owl in a Tree Pop Up Card.  This is a proto-type, I haven't cut it out yet.  I just wanted to share with you all what I've been working on lately.

I will cut it out later and decorate and post the finished results at that time.  Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all... xoxo

Lisa

Lisa

Good morning, Carolyn here to share with you what I created using the digi stamp "Lisa" from Sunsational Stamps.

The main layer of the front mat I cut out a fancy label mat, and using the same cut piece, I created a lattice and than applied to the main mat and framed it with brown card stock.

I traced the image, Lisa in my Silhouette Studio and colored with Stampin! Up markers, but the hat and brim is paper pieced from another image of Lisa that I hand-cut.  Placed Lisa on the edge of the lattice window using foam tape.  Flowers from from a swap that I participated in on Facebook at one time.

Please visit us at Sunsational Stamps to see what we've been up to lately.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all...xoxo

Hello from snowy Alabama - yes, that's right snow in Alabama!!  Cause for this transplanted Northern gal to celebrate and dance a little dance of joy.

And now to the 2nd Sunsational Stamps Design Team Blog Hop which is February 14th, Valentine's Day from 9 AM to 11 PM CST.  Our theme for this month is Love, so we have created projects with Love, Valentine's or Cupid.

Now, I would like to share with you what I created for a Valentine's Card to send to Operation Write Home for our servicemen/women serving our country in deployment to far away parts of this world.

I created a Sunburst card using card stock from Stampin! Up; and the design paper is hearts  wallpaper found on a Internet search.  I cut out the cat from the digital stamp design with my Silhouette Studio and colored with Copic markers.  Layered 2 hears, and faux stitched around the top heart.  The kitty was placed on the heart.

A ribbon was placed along the edge of the Sunburst, and I punched out small hearts with a small heart punch; and the title  "Have a Purrfect Valentine!" was print and cut; and than I colored in the letters.  Placed on a white card stock and now have a cute card.

Creative Kuts Recipe Club - Double-Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here is a recipe for a delicious snack....

I have another Recipe Card finished to include with the finished pages for the Recipe book I'm creating.  I believe this is the sixth card that I've completed.  Slow progress !!

I reprinted the recipe onto light tan cardstock and layered on kraft card stock; and this was placed onto orange and white checkered card stockstock, all from my stash.  On the glass I used Vellum paper for the glass, with white cardstock placed under to represent milk.  The cookie is cut out of Kraft, brown, black and red card stock and adhere to the sit on the edge of the glass of milk.  The title is placed on foam tape.

Thank you for stopping by to visit with me, and hope all of you keeping warm and safe during the weather we're having lately.  Hugs to all...xoxo

Another Step Card

Hi, Carolyn here to share a Wedding Card for the Saturday, Anything Goes.

Wedding Card

I used a Basic Single Step Card for the design.  I place the Wedding cake on the top tier of the step card, and the Silhouette Wedding Couple on the second tier.  Stamped the sentiment  "Congratulations” on a piece of white card stock and placed on the front step.  Added pearls on each end; and the flowers placed on cake from the sewing department of Walmart.

I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a question, please leave it in the comments, and a DT member will get back to you. You can find more inspiration and projects at my blog Granny Ma’s Creations. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques.

Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

Carolyn

Saint Patrick Card

Irish Leprechaun

 Front of Card
Inside of card

Supplies used:
  • Card stock
  • Design paper created and printed from Abode Photoshop Elements Ver 12
  • Word Punch paper punch
  • eyelet punch
  • Green gemstones for embellishments
  • Adhesive and foam tape
  • Bic markers for coloring
  • Software: Silhouette Studio DE
Instructions:
  • Measurements; 4.25x11 for base
  • Inside design paper: 5.50x approx 6
  • Topper: 4.25x2.25
  • Inside where the bucket is placed on I cut out a 1x4 strip
Trimmed card stock to 4.25x11 for the base and using my word punch paper punch I created two slots for the pop-down 1x4 strip will be adhered to.  I attached to the pop-out tab and foam taped the coin bucket to the bottom, making sure it does not show at bottom.

Front I trimmed a piece of the printed design paper for a topper (to close the holes left from the pop-out tab) and punched a edge of eyelets on the topper edge and on the edge of the front of card, and on the top and bottom edge of the inside matting.  Using my Silhouette Studio DE I printed and cut the Leprechaun, Bucket of gold, and title and placed on shadow background and placed on foam tapes to the front of card, inside top, and on the  strip of card to create a pop-out effect.  From the left-over trimmings of the design paper, I placed a small border just top of the eyelet punched area.

New items placed in the Store

Good morning, and hope your crafting day is going well for you.  I took a little break from crafting to work on new items for my store at Cut and Create, and you will find my listings under my name ... Carolyn Smith on the left side bar.

Here is what I placed in the store today....

Each file includes svg, mtc, studio, jpeg and png format, and for personal use only.

This file includes only studio, jpeg and png, and is a print 'n cut file.  For personal use only.

Now I will be starting on applying adhesive to my projects so I can finish and post here.   Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today, and hugs to all xoxo

Rose Stencil Pop Up Card

First of all, I am not affiliated with Pop Up Card Studio or Make the Cut software.  I use Make the Cut software to design my cut files in; and create pop up cut files in the new software, Pop Up Card Studio.  And cut out the projects in SCAL3 as it's easier to move around in - I'm more familiar with the way the project is laid out on the mat and not confusing when it comes to cutting.

Anyhow I would like to share with you the project I just completed but have not test cut yet.

I was playing with my software, Pop Up Card Studio that I just recently purchased from the creators of Make the Cut software; and feel a little better about the purchase.  At first, I felt I wasted the money because of the way my first design came out, but retweaking and using different options in the program, I am beginning to like it.  I'm not where the pro that some designers are, especially Penny Duncan...she is fabulous with her designs using this new software; and hope to see a video or more from her.

First I retweaked the Stencil Rose according to a video by Rob of Scrappy Dew on how to remove the 2nd lines in the design.  Once done, I created a shadow of the StencilRose and copied and pasted into my Pop Up Card Studio and created the pop up card using the shadow of the Stencil Rose.

After completing the pop up card, I copied and pasted to Make the Cut and re-size the StencilRose pattern to fit; and saved as a svg file so I can cut out in my SCAL3 software.  I will test cut and than decide if I will put into the store.

Thank you for allowing me to share with you my creations, and hugs to all xoxo
