My Christmas gift for Alexis

About a month to six weeks ago I asked my 11 yr old granddaughter, Alexis what she would like for a Christmas gift and she requested that I make her a big heart and a box of Hershey Kisses.  Now I realize this is or was Christmas, and the following looks more for a Valentine's gift but my granddaughter is beginning to know what lack of money we all have and made a simple request (and she is lightly to medium autistic).

The box is a Chinese take-out box svg cut file that I used as a team member for DtsArt this past four months.  The hearts is a set of hearts that I used my Make the Cut software, created the design and exported to my SCAL2 (sorry MTC refuses to cut on my Cricut Expression) and I put the hearts together, stamped hearts in pink ink or versa-marked the image on the box.

We received a basket of candy for Christmas from the brother in Florida and I used the red shredded tissue paper from that gift set to line the inside of the box and will fill it with Hershey Kisses and a gift-card for her to use at Wal-mart.

Thank you for stopping by to visit me, and I will have a free file to share either Friday or Saturday.  Hugs to all.

Merry Christmas, 2011

Merry Christmas to all...and hope u all have a Happy New Year.  I finished part of my granddaughter's Christmas gift which I will fill with Hershey Kisses and a gift card  from Wal-mart.

 Side one

 Front side with window

 Side two

Side three with sentiment

I think it's too friggin' cute.  And Kassidy's sister, Alexis requested I make a big heart and a box of kisses, so I plan to make up another Chinese take out box with hearts all over...I know, I know ... it's more of a Valentine's decor, but I am going with the request.....plus I plan to have a pic of myself printed and added to the center of a big heart card...

Check back tomorrow sometime....for the next freebie...(I decided that there wasn't enough of train pieces to go for five days, so it will be individual freebies....I apologize.)

Thank you for stopping by and once I have Alexis' box finish I will post it...another day or two.  Hugs and Happy Holidays to all.

One of my Christmas Cards

Hello everybody...I've been working on my Christmas cards and here is one.  I used a Singing Snowman design from Rhoda Design Studio for the front of the card...I printed the snowman first, and than align up the image and cut around it using my Cricut Expression.  Googled the music sheet for Jingle Bells, printed it and cut it approx 4.25x5.50 inches (give or take on the dimensions) Pop-dot the snowman image onto the music sheet, and included ribbon on the left side and tore a corner of the music sheet and inserted a brad in the corner of the card stock....here is the pic of my work....

I am going to make a couple more of the same theme, and than work on another Christmas card plus a design project for DoodleTales.  Have two hexagon boxes with heart for the lid to make up for my two granddaughters as well.

Thank you for stopping by, and hugs to all.

Saturday Morning's Free File

Good  morning and hope u all having a great weekend.  I am sharing a stationary file in jpeg and png format today....just upload into your photo editing software (i.e.: Abode Photoshop Elements or PantShop Photo Pro X3 but I have been using Inkscape 0.48 to print out my images such as background images for my Christmas card.  Other times I use Paint.NET, but only if I want to print more than one page...(card stock becomes finicky in my printer!)

I created the stationary in Inkscape 0.48 using the Bezier tool to draw the lines with the grid showing so I can have the lines the same length.  I insert a image in the corner for one design and than decided to mirror the image and insert in the right hand corner of the stationary.  I did have a box drawn around the whole image but that would print out when printing the final image so removed the box once the lines were drawn.

Likely u will have to re-size to your specifications .... I will be purchasing colored typing paper at Wal-mart and create a box of stationary for birthday gifts for the oldest granddaughters...already have the stationary box done up.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you all like a little change in my freebies for today.  Hugs to all.

Three Gift Card Holders

Here is the last design for this term...three different styles of gift card holders to use for any occasion.

The 2nd pic actually shows the gift card holder which I glued to inside of the card.  I added a tab to a rectangle piece of card stock and put inside the holder for stability.  The front of the card has a star that I cut out for my Christmas cards for this year plus stamped a tag and glued to the right of the star.

The next card holder is similar to the first set....inside of the card is the holder ... this is the scalloped edge tab design.  I glued to the card stock and can slip the gift card into the holder.  On left side of card I attached a stamped sentiment with plenty of space to write a personal msg.

The third and final one was very simple to make up.  I stamped Merry Christmas onto a piece of card stock and inserted inside with the gift card. Stamped image with a sentiment and pop-dot it to the front.

Click on the following team members for their individual designs....

A Snowy Scene

Hello everybody...I have been in the creative mood lately...lol...Christmas cards created for mailing, and along with cards, I am also working on gift card holders for family members and I am showing one where I used a stamp that can be used as a border on a lot of cards...from DoodleTales.  A snowman and Christmas trees MCH018 which can be purchased at doodletales.etsy.com ...check it out.

Using black card stock from my stash, I stamped the image on the bottom of the card piece using white ink...messy ink!!  The white snow flakes is a Bic Wite-out...a little trick I learn from Scrapbook Showgrams by Sandi Genovese.  I used clear rinestones on the trees in the decorations and one in the 'o' of word Snow.  Inside of the card is:

I versamarked snow flakes on the inside of the card and created a pocket for a gift card (not done correctly, but I tried!!)  On the opposite side is a white rectangle with the sentiment stamped on it, with room for a short message.

Check out DoodleTales for team members creative work; and check out his etsy store at Doodletales.etsy.com for his stamps he has offered for sale.

Thank you for stopping and come back again tomorrow for my Nutcracker Soldier series free files.  Hugs to all.

It's Saturday Freebie time

It's Saturday and time for another quick freebie to share with you.  I worked up a gift pkg with a pkg by itself, and another one where it's union ed together and also created separately the ribbon/bow that can be cut out.  Also there is a small circle for the center of the ribbon, or can use a rind stone/bead for the center for embellishing.  Actually this file can be used on a card for Christmas, birthday, or graduation...many uses for the design.  Can even be used as a tag for a gift....

It is also available in svg, mtc and jpeg format and for personal use only.

Starting Monday I will be posting a 5-day series of the Nutcracker Soldier, but at this point, I am not planning to include the jpeg image...it will be in svg, mtc and tentatively planning scut2 format.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and as always, hugs to all.  Stop by on Monday for the start of the Nutcracker Soldiers and Wednesday for the posting of my final design for DtsArtsblog. On Monday, I will be posting my design for DoodleTales.

Last Nativity Silhouette

It is December, 2011...soon the year will be finished...and than go into 2012...wonder what changes we will see!   I wondered how to do this to finish out the week...there are two silhouette images of the Shepherds...thought about making them individual postings but did not want to create a confusion so put them together as one posting.

And now onto the story of the Shepherds....Luke 2:8-20...I'm not going to type all the verses here...just this one:  Luke 2:15-17

15. So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and  see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."
16. And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manager.
17. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.

This file includes svg, mtc and jpeg.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and hugs to all.

Christmas Gift Card Holder

It has been a productive morning, and now it's time for a little rest but will post what I worked up, as a member of the design team for DoodleTalesBlog.  The card was inspired from watching a new video at Stamping School by Linda Heller.

Two pictures taken of the front...where I used Stamps MCH018 ... versamarked on the front of the card base and than heat embossed using clear embossing powder. MCH005 was versamarked on white cardstock, embossed in Garnet embossing powder and than heated.  The circle was placed on a scalloped circle and placed on a band that wraps around the card.

This picture shows the inside of the card...I used design paper over the front, and you will find a scapolled edge along the bottom to the flap.

Inside is a folded A2 enveloped glued to the center of card base...there is two sections ... one for the gift card, and another for the greeting.

I cut out a rounded tab label and glued to the top edge of the card that the greeting and signature will be placed on.

If interested in obtaining these little cute stamps, go to:  Doodletales.etsy.com, and go visit his blog to see other design team members work.... DoodleTalesBlog.

Thank you for visiting with me today, and back tomorrow with another Nativity silhouette free file.  Hugs to all.

GMC-Three Magi-Kings Silhouette

As you will note ....  I was attempting to spread out the silhouettes this week to go thru the whole week, but not possible.  My free file for today is a silhouette of the Three Wisemen .... according to Matthew 2:1-12, three Wisemen  'saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.  And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh." Matthew 2:10-11. (I apologize for offending anyone with quoting Bible verses here, but I am hoping to make this clear to everyone.)    Now that said... here is a pic of the free silhouette file.

will be available at http://www.g-macreativestore.com/ soon.

Thank you for stopping by today, and hugs to all.

Did u all survive Black Friday shopping?  We made the stores that we have here in this small town and I was able to purchase...drum roll, please,..... a brand new, red Kodak EasyShare camera for under $50.00.  And takes great pictures....It's smaller than the Canon camera I have (which I will hold onto for awhile)...can easily carried in my brand new purse.  So I done ok...On to the freebie for today...

Beginning on Monday I will share a series of Nativity Silhouettes that u can use possibly in vinyl creations.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me.  Hugs to all and enjoy the long weekend.

(Nativity) Star

I am posting a freebie along with a pic of how the Star was used in the Christmas Card...and I know I had stated that tomorrow would be the start of the Nativity silhouettes, but I will begin those freebies on Saturday...just wanted to share the card and a freebie with you all...

Front of Card

This is called a Christmas 3-D Pop-up card...I placed a piece of red cardstock with a trim of striped paper on the top of the front of the card.  Than placed another rectangle piece of designer paper with a sentiment placed as a label with the edges colored in Real Red from Stampin! Up©  .... Paper and cardstock used from a Wal-mart collection.

Inside of card

On the inside I created a template where the pop-ups for the stars would be set.  I used stars cut out with my Cricut Expression and glued them in the center above Santa and to each side.  Santa is from a set of stickers I purchased at Wal-mart and will be planning to fight the crowds today to purchase a couple more sets.  Placed a white cardstock on the corner for the sentiment, message or just the signature.

And now to the free file...a set of stars that you can use for your creating....

Thank you for visiting today, on Black Friday...hope all enjoy shopping (we're getting up early to go to J.C. Penney's and K-mart for the early sales, and than breakfast and than to Wal-mart.) !  And 30 days from today will be Christmas ... :-).  Hugs to all and be safe.

Wishing u all a Happy Thanksgiving Day

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all....it's a beautiful day here with the sun shining and temps in the 50's.  We have our turkey with stuffing in the oven now and eggs are cooling so I can make up deviled eggs.  Going to look up a recipe for green beans casserole w/out the dried onions on top!  Went grocery shopping yesterday and that is one item I did not get....after dr's visit I was ready to get the rest of my errands done and get home...shopping with crowds not my thing.  And I have to face the crowds tomorrow just to pick up prescriptions...bah, humbug!!

I am working on Nativity silhouettes that I will be posting as freebies, starting tomorrow...stayed tuned til then.  Happy Turkey day (or ham day if you're eating ham) ... have a blessed day and be careful this weekend out there on the roads especially tomorrow with all the shoppers out.  Hugs to all.

Christmas Cards

For the past two days or so I have been working on Christmas cards as well as files for Smart Buy Gal store where I have a few files listed.  I am planning to upload some Nativity files this week...check the store out.  Right now this is the format she is using until she can get a store up and running...she experienced some problems a few months ago with hacking and had to shut that part of  store down.

Now onto my Christmas card and freebie...thanks to Scrapbook Showgram with Sandi Genovese and her awesome idea for Christmas cards to make up in a mass production especially if you have loads of cards to mail out this week.  I am using two of her ideas for my cards but the one is not ready for posting...have to make a trip to the scrapbook store to purchase the adhesive strips I need...lol

Here is the supply list that Sandi used, but the brads I used are silver, and I added a ribbon, using my Bow Easy tool.

Here’s a list of supplies that Sandi uses in making this EMBOSSED HOLIDAY CARDS:

On the inside of the card, opening the doors, you will find a reindeer and a snowflake, stickers I found at the local Wal-mart.  I used a snowflake stamp and watermarked the red cardstock in different areas.  I have not put a sentiment inside yet...that will come b/4 I mail the cards.

I am sharing with you the Happy Holiday Wreath... I changed mine...rather than have my Cricut cut out the holes I used my hand punch to punch the holes and than created a ribbon bow and glue dot it to the bottom of the wreath.

Thank you for visiting with me today...and once again, hugs to all.
